LITTER 2 - THE RIVER PUPS

This litter is named after species found on rivers and riversides in the UK.

​

When looking for a stud dog for this litter it was Hester's breeder who mentioned Kyo (aka Smooshie) to me, saying how well behaved he was around all the dogs and general madness at shows. I went to meet him myself at a show and was impressed at how he was able to be totally chilled hanging out ringside with all the hustle and bustle of a show going on around him, even with all the hormones flying around! As well as breed showing he also competes successfully in agility.

Being a slightly older boy at 7 years of age, he has the benefit of a fuller health history than a younger dog and with it being his first litter there is little risk of him becoming an overused stud and contributing to popular sire syndrome.

All of these factors, amongst others, drew me to Kyo. 

 

I wanted to find a male that would produce a coefficient of inbreeding as low as possible when combined with Hester while still having traits that I felt were a good match for her. The litter COI is lower than average for Tollers in the UK.
